Americans are starting to see the first wave of payments from the coronavirus stimulus package, the IRS said in a tweet on Saturday.
“#IRS deposited the first Economic Impact Payments into taxpayers’ bank accounts today. We know many people are anxious to get their payments; we’ll continue issuing them as fast as we can,” the tweet said.

The first batch of deposits was expected to start with those who have filed tax returns for 2019 or 2018, or those who have their direct deposit information on file with Social Security.
Some Americans could wait 20 weeks for payments, according to a House Democratic memo obtained by CNN.
