As resident libertarian here at DSMW, stories such as this split me down the middle. It goes something like this:
Arab-American boy finds (extremely large clunky low tech looking) tracking device under his car. Boy posts pictures of said device online. FBI shows up and threatens boy for exercising his first amendment rights and routine car maintenance.
Since he found the device attached to his car would that mean the device was his property under the statute of Finders, Keepers?
The wrinkle in this story is that the young man’s deceased father did have ties to the Muslim religious community.
Wow. Aren’t you glad you’re not an interesting Muslim?
