Submitting to DSMW
We, at DSMW, want to advance the national conversation with fresh insight. We strive to publish previously unpublished material.
Once DSMW has published the piece and it resides in our archives, subsequent literary rights become the property of the author, and the author may permit republication. We request that DSMW be credited as the original publisher and hyperlinked.
Submission Criteria
Format
Submissions should be either a PDF or MSWord document.
Personal Information
Your submission should include your name, email address and an author’s credit. The author’s credit is the information you would like published with the article.
Length
Articles should be between 500 to 1200 words.
Content
Articles should focus on the reader. Personal references or opinions should be avoided. Information presented as fact should be factual and verifiable. Humor and wit area always welcome and appreciated. DSMW does not condone or promote hate or violence. We will not publish any content that is construed as threatening, hateful or inciting violence.
Technical Issues
Submissions should be edited for typos, grammatical errors and punctuation. DSMW is not responsible for editing your submission. On occasion, we may do so, but do not assume we will correct any technical mistakes. Capitalization either belongs at the beginning of a sentence or is used for proper names and titles; do not use capitalization for emphasis.
Graphics
Only include picture or graphic with your submission if you own the copyright. Please note that we cannot publish copyrighted material without permission from the owner. DSMW will supply the graphics for your article.
