The striking thing about France

When you think about France, what comes to mind? The Eiffel Tower? The Mona Lisa? Versailles? How about not being able to get from one place to another? We’ve been to France a handfull of times and have been inconvenienced by some striking faction, to varying degrees, many times. But this time it is different.

The French are making a stink because of the austerity programs that the government is implementing. It seems that the current regime realizes that it can ill-afford the nanny state that its citizens take for granted. Sarkozy has a huge task ahead of him; those French loves them some socialism.

It’s funny. The French want more government. We want less. Tell us Goldilocks, who’s government is just right?
