Baucus, Berwick and Obama’s executive power

It seems like only yesterday Max Baucus, the Democratic chairman of the Senate Finance Committee who crafted the healthcare legislation, made the statement that healthcare was not about healthcare but spreading the wealth.  Now he feigns outrage over Obama’s “recess appointment” of Dr. Donald Berwick.  To quote Mr. Baucus,  “Senate confirmation of presidential appointees is an essential process prescribed by the Constitution that serves as a check on executive power.”

Well, well, why the ruffled feathers over the end game Mr. Baucus? I would have  thought this maneuver part of the overall healthcare plan.  Dr. Berwick would have never passed the muster of the American people in open debate.  But who better to coordinate a very large socialist healthcare plan, a budget larger than the Pentagon, than a very large socialist planner.

The details of just how Obamacare is to take shape are beyond shocking.  Will the American people stand for this type of insolent behavior from the president and Mr Berwick or simply let this check on executive power pass?  What do you say Mr. Baucus?
