Citizens in 20 states file petitions to secede from United States

As a result of Tuesday’s election, Americans in 15 states have filed petitions to secede from the United States, Regina Conley reported at Red Alert Politics on Saturday.

So far, she says, residents in Louisiana, Texas, Kentucky, Colorado, New Jersey and ten other states, have filed petitions at theWhite House petition site requesting secession. A petition for New York to secede was file by “C R” of Grand Forks, North Dakota on Saturday.

Since our friend Joe Newby at the Spokane Examiner broke this story Texas has broken the threshold for the number of signatures to secede from the over 20 states now to be reviewed by the White House and President Obama to comment on.

“There’s a lot of different scenarios,” Gov. of Texas Perry said. “We’ve got a great union. There’s absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, you know, who knows what might come out of that.
