Julian Assange, 39 (dob 03/07/71), was arrested on a European Arrest Warrant by appointment at a London police station at 09.30 today.
He is accused by the Swedish authorities of one count of unlawful coercion, two counts of sexual molestation and one count of rape, all alleged to have been committed in August 2010.
Assange is due to appear at City of Westminster Magistrates Court today.
WikiLeaks has also seen an online army of supporters come to its aid, sending donations, fighting off computer attacks and setting up over 500 mirror sites around the world to make sure that the secret documents are published regardless of what happens to Mr. Assange.
E-mails leaked from Julian Assange show fanatics whose objective have been to topple governments, including the United States government, by publishing highly embarrassing stolen secret documents. They also reveal a possible connection with George Soros, which should be investigated by the Justice Department as part of its probe into possible criminal wrong-doing in the whole WikiLeaks affair.
