We were big fans of Lost at first. It had a lot of promise. It kept us riveted, surprised and entertained. It was something new and exciting. But the longer it was on the air, the less interested we became.
There were to many distractions and diversions. The alternate timelines and sideways jumps were cumbersome. By the time the finale rolled around we had lost interest. We weren’t bored per se, but we knew things would not be wrapped up neatly or “all questions will be answered”. We were prepared to be let down and we were.
So far the Obama Presidency is playing out like Lost. Lots of excitement. Lots of intrigue. But you know what? It just seems like a new way of telling the same old story. Better camera work, higher production values, but the ending remains the same.
